A Note from Boat Angel Team Members:
Lots of boaters along the Mississippi and along the Gulf Coast call us asking what they have to do to get their boat ready for donation. The answers are pretty simple: get a copy of your title, make sure it is readable, find the exact address the boat is stored at and if it is a storage yard or marina, let us know.
Take all your personal items off the boat - cellphone, first aid kits, any medications, tools, fishing gear, blankets, jackets, hats, sunglasses, sunblock, copies of your registration, wallet, gas credit cards, gas and repair receipts. Once those things are off the boat then when it is picked up you will not have to be concerned about trying to track them down.
If you are concerned about your donation expenses, you will not be responsible for any loading or moving charges after the donation is in process. If the marina charges to have the boat loaded into the water or onto a trailer the person picking up the boat will cover those charges.
